Baitul Sukoon has provided free cancer treatment to a total of 694 patients and intends to enlarge its coverage to patients living in far off places, a press release said on Thursday. The hospital provided radiotherapy to 126 patients, chemotherapy 416, and other supporting treatments to 149 patients costing Rs 9.4 million.

Baitul Sukoon has acquired a plot in Block 7, 8 of KCH Society in order to expand the existing facility. The proposed project comprises total covered area of about 1100 square yards and will have over four levels to accommodate 40 beds and modern machinery and equipment for the patients and research purposes. Baitul Sakoon has support of Dr Jawaid Malick, consultant clinical oncologist and head of Cancer department, Ziauddin Hospital.-PR
